Hello, I’m writing to appeal to your humanity and ask that you please do all that can be done to get an interim humanitarian truce in Gaza implemented to allow for the release of Noa Argamani, an Israeli hostage held by Hamas, in exchange for the release of 50 Palestinian women from Israeli prisons. I understand that ongoing negotiations are taking place as I write this. However, time is running out for Liora Argamani, Noa’s mother, who has terminal advanced-stage cancer and has little time left before seeing and hugging her daughter one last time. I call for an interim agreement to release Noa in exchange for 50 Palestinian women in Israeli prisons and a 3-day ceasefire. During these three days, the maximum number of humanitarian aid trucks should be pushed into Gaza while leveraging the 3-day calm to bolster ceasefire negotiations. The time to act is now. This is a win-win for all parties and could be a mutual opportunity to elevate humanitarian considerations above the chronic impasse in negotiations. Noa's father has expressed immense compassion toward the suffering of the civilian population in Gaza; he and his wife deserve to be reunited quickly with their daughter, and hundreds of Palestinian families deserve to have 50 of their daughters/wives return to them. Most importantly, this temporary pause could be used to advance and bolster the prospects of a more extended ceasefire agreement that includes the release of more Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, similar to what took place in November of 2023. I urge you, in the name of humanity, to do whatever you can to please advance this proposal and pressure the relevant parties to see the mutual advantage of releasing Noa/Palestinian female prisoners to the benefit of all.
